Novgorod Oblast is located in the north-western part of European Russia. It is part of the Northwestern Federal District. It is bordered by Vologda oblast, Leningrad oblast, Pskov oblast and Tver oblast.

Administrative center – Veliky Novgorod.
Area – the 49st place among the subjects of the Russian Federation.
Population – the 70th place among the subjects of the Russian Federation.
