Perm krai is located in the eastern part of Russia (in the Cisurals) and on western slopes of the Middle and North Urals. It is part of the Volga Federal District. It is bordered by Kirov oblast, Sverdlovsk oblast, the Komi Republic, the Republic of Bashkortostan and the Udmurt Republic.
