Republic of Marij El

The Mari El Republic is located in eastern European Russia. It is part of the Volga Federal District. It is bordered by Kirov oblast, Nizhny Novgorod oblast, the Republic of Tatarstan and the Chuvash Republic.

Administrative center – Yoshkar-Ola.
Area – the 73rd place among the subjects of the Russian Federation.
Population – the 66th place among the subjects of the Russian Federation.
