Saratov oblast is located in the southeastern part of European Russia, in the north part of the Lower Volga region. It is part of the Volga Federal District. It is bordered by Volgograd region, Voronezh oblast, Tambov oblast, Penza oblast, Samara oblast, Ulyanovsk oblast, Orenburg oblast and Kazakhstan.
Administrative center – Saratov.
