Krasnodar Krai is located in southern Russia, in the southwestern part of the North Caucasus. It is part of the Southern Federal District. It is bordered by Rostov Oblast, Stavropol Krai, the Republic of Abkhazia, the Republic of Adygea, the Republic of Karachay-Cherkessia and Crimea.

Administrative center – Krasnodar.
Area – the 41st place among the subjects of the Russian Federation.
Population – the 3rd place among the subjects of the Russian Federation.
